Following our first very successful visit to Northumbria in 2025 we return for 2026. Northumbria is a land of outstanding beauty we will explore its Heritage coastline, dotted with ancient castles, golden beaches and pretty market towns spend time exploring its friendly city and areas of illustrious history and traditions.
CALEDONIAN Hotel. Positioned in the leafy suburb of Jesmond – 1 mile from the city centre. This Georgian hotel has in recent years undergone an extensive refurbishment combining many of its original features with a contemporary edge. With 89 specious en-suite bedrooms and a range of dining options - the relaxed ambience of the Phoenix Restaurant or a heated outdoor terrace.

During this 5-day holiday our time and activities will be a pleasant blend of day tours around Northumbria with some time spent in interesting market towns. A local guide has been arranged to show you the sites and tell the tales of Newcastle and the “Geordie” dialect. Northumbria’s heritage coastline is a unique and beautiful place with its distinct cuisine and traditions. The popular fishing village of Seahouses where stalls sell the freshest of seafood is just one stop along our route. We continue along to Bamburgh to enjoy a walk on the golden beach or visit the impressive Bamburgh castle. A must see on the day tour is Holy Island of Lindisfarne accessed via a causeway (tides permitting) this breathtakingly beautiful isle encourages a stroll to visit one of several cafes for refreshment.
This tour begins with coach pick-ups from mid-Ulster to Belfast on Monday 21st September for the 07.30am Stena sailing to Cairnryan and onward by coach with comfort and meal stops en-route, expecting to arrive the Caledonian Hotel Newcastle in time to freshen up before dinner. We return home on Friday 25th September on the 7.30pm Stena sailing from Cairnryan, due in Belfast 9.45pm followed by JMB coach transfer to your set-down point in Northern Ireland.
