The floral spa town of Harrogate is the base for our new Yorkshire programme with a visit to RHS Garden at Harlow Carr. Each day visits a different area of England’s largest county from Viking York with its impressive Minster, cobbled streets and piles of history, to Skipton – The “Gateway to the Dales” with a steam train ride through Yorkshire Dales scenery included.

Tuesday Harrogate & RHS Harlow Carr Gardens
Harrogate is one of Yorkshire’s most elegant towns, with fine shopping, historic buildings & verdant gardens. After lunch entry to the 58-acre RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, reflecting Yorkshire’s natural landscape include colourful borders, scented gardens, alpine zone, woodland walks & wildflower meadows. It is a delight in every season. (4 miles).

Wednesday Skipton, Steam Train & Yorkshire Dales
Full steam ahead to the “Gateway to the Dales”. Today is Skipton’s market day near the castle ramparts, and next to the canal. Later, hop on board the Embsay Steam train for a nostalgic journey through Dales’ countryside, alighting at Bolton Abbey. The day continues with a glorious drive though the fells with time free in Grassington, with its cobbled streets, continuing across the Dales to the cathedral city of Ripon, which is a true Yorkshire gem. (57 miles).

Thursday Viking York
Encircled by city walls, York is one of England’s most historical cities and is dominated by its 1385-year-old Minster. Explore York’s twisting passageways known as the “Shambles” or visit the Railway Museum or Jorvik Centre. A good way of seeing the city is on a boat cruise on the River Ouse. Return to Harrogate via Tadcaster and Wetherby. (42 miles).

Crown Hotel, Harrogate 3* Commended Superb location in the centre of town with all local amenities within easy reach. It is a grand, spacious hotel, dating back 300 years. All 114 bedrooms are modern and well furnished. During our tour we visit the following towns: Pately Bridge, Grassington, Tadcaster, Skipton, Harrogate, Ripon, Bolton Abbey, Knaresborough, Wetherby.

This tour begins with coach pick-ups from mid-Ulster to Belfast on Monday 3rd July for the 7.30am Stena sailing to Cairnryan and onward by coach with comfort and meal stops en-route, expecting to arrive the Crown Hotel Harrogate in time to freshen up before dinner. We return home on Friday 7th July on the 7.30pm Stena sailing from Cairnryan, due in Belfast 9.45pm followed by JMB coach transfer to your set-down point in Northern Ireland.
